26 Regiment Royal Corps of Transport

Im Jahre 1965 wurde das RASC (Royal Army Service Corps) umstrukturiert und wurde ein Teil des RCT (Royal Corps of Transport).

Daraus ergab sich das die Hameln stationierte 10 Kompanie RASC zur 40 Squadron RCT wurde!

In 1965 the RASC were re-badged and became the RCT.  Consequently 10 Coy RASC was re-numbered as 40 Sqn RCT.

    I served in 26 Regt RCT / 35 Sqn RCT from Oct 1969 until,I as Chief Clerk of 35 Sqn closed the gates and handed over the keys of Scharnhorst Kaserne to 28 Amphib RE on 28 Feb 72. Fond memories .

Great place to be , was in 10 coy-sqn 1963-65, had some great friends there , and fond memories, left there to go to Nienburg 66 sqn stalwarts , another great place , was in Germany for 6 years befor they posted me back to the uk , worst thing ever as I wanted to stop over there , good luck to all ex BAOR chaps, respect,
