Great site. I’d love to find out to what happened to 24BT79. I spent three happy years as her crewman/pilot/driver 82-85. Got 68kph out of her going down the long Autobahn hill at Herford. She only failed to make a build twice, both times not her fault, and god knows how many yellow Herforder 10 packs she carried in the back hatch for us. A great girl.

Gary the M2 ,rig reg No 24BT79 entered service with 2 Troop 23 AES, in 1969 , its first Cmdr. Was a Cpl. Jeff Jelly ex 9 Para. SQN.RE. the pilot was Jim Pedley , last heard of Jeff Jelly was S/Sgt. At Dover .
I was in 23 Amphibious Engineer Squadron from Jan 66 to Dec 70. I started off in 2 Troop with Heavy Ferry then went to 1 Troop with Gillois until we got our M2 rigs 69(I think it was) ! Troop then formed 64 AES soon after which I was posted to Central Engineer Park.
