BFPO 31, a code which is known by many soldiers who served in hamelin, I think! A ZIP code for the Hameln garrison! Luckily I got here an official permit to take these photos! They show the post office in block 10 with input, post office, distribution and a final post officials of Hameln garrison! Thanks for the permission! The red mailbox at the entrance could tell many stories, when there were no electronic data transfer I think he was very often used by the soldiers of hamelin! I believe many soldiers wrote letters to their parents, brothers and sisters with their problems and other thinks! And I mean the RED POST BOX know all the stories, but never told about, what he read and that is very fine!

I found an old photograph with what looks like military personnel details and also that this person was likely being contacted at BFPO31. The person is noted as being: CPLT 10 Coy R.A.S.C (BR). A quick search tells me this is possibly a co-pilot in 10 Company of the Royal Army Service Corps. I may be wrong but I believe the RASC disbanded (at least in name) in 1965. I also have a T/ number and name. This is all written on the back of a photograph of my mother who was a young girl at the time. She was born in 1949, so we have a window of 1949-1965. We would love to find out who this military person is and why their details are on the back of a photograph of my mother. A plot twist in all of this is that my now deceased Grandmother, who is almost certainly the person that has written this on the photograph, told the family that the father of the pictured girl (my mother) was a German, and we have a name for him as well (which is a German name, the other on the photograph looks like MASON or possibly MASOW. I’m thinking it may be that she had contacted this person regarding the German, or maybe they had their own relationship that is new to us. I’d love to find out more if anyone has any input for any of the things named here. Thanks.
Hello,
