I was based in Gordon Barracks initially with 65 Corps Field Park Sqn, subsequently 65 Corps Support Sqn, Stores then Workshops troops. Transferred to 30 Field Sqn, (Dirty 30) 5 Troop (Shiny 5). Also at Hameln: 28 and 45 Field Sqns and 23 Amphibious all part of 35 Engineer Regt. Seconded to 38 (Berlin) Field Sqn.
30 relocated to Hohne, 32 Armoured Engineers,
Might have some photographs of pissed sappers somewhere.
Some names: Staff Sgt (Daddy Chad) Chadwick, subsequently bomb disposal based at Maplin sands. Troop Sgt: Phil Lance. Captain, The Count, De Plant, De Winterberg (Impossible to forget that name. Cpl John Phillips, subsequently awarded the MM I think for defusing a bomb on board a warship during the Falklands campaign.

For the 1974 tour of N.I. 30 Sqn was split up and they spent half the time in the Kesh and the other half in County Fermanagh (based in Eniskillen), half way through the tour they swapped over so each half spent time at the Kesh.
