🇬🇧 The Hamelin freight yard 🇬🇧
The Hamelin freight yard – who knows how many military shipments this station has witnessed? Whether it was British troops from Hamelin or other NATO nations, the irony is striking. I owe a lot to my father, including my passion for photography, as he spent his whole life behind the camera. Yet, he never thought to photograph this station, even though he worked here for at least 20 years and must have seen quite a bit. What I’m still missing, and what remains a dream of mine, is a complete shot of an entire troop transport on wagons from the Hamelin troops. So far, I only have one picture of an M2 on a wagon, but capturing a whole troop on the wagons – now that would be really cool!

Der Hamelner Güterbahnhof – wer weiß, wie viele militärische Verladungen dieser Bahnhof erlebt hat. Ob es die britischen Truppen aus Hameln waren oder andere Nationen des NATO-Bündnisses. Es ist eine bemerkenswerte Ironie: Meinem Vater verdanke ich vieles, auch meine Leidenschaft für die Fotografie, da er sein Leben lang fotografiert hat. Doch auf die Idee, den Güterbahnhof zu fotografieren, ist er nie gekommen. Dabei hat er hier mindestens 20 Jahre gearbeitet und sicherlich so manches erlebt. Was mir wirklich noch fehlt und ein lang gehegter Traum ist, wäre eine komplette Aufnahme eines gesamten Truppentransports auf Waggons der Hamelner Truppen. Bislang habe ich nur ein Bild einer M2 auf einem Waggon, aber ein ganzer Troop auf Waggons – das wäre wirklich großartig!
