I was a wife of a serving soldier in 1978 in Willch and a young mum , I remember the awful murder of Andrew Robinson as my son was only a few months old when this happened, in 1978 . I was then married to Mike smith and wondered if anyone remembers this time and remembers us Mike and Kim smith

  1. Hello,
My grandad was RV morris. We are trying to get hold of medals ect as he is no longer with us. But I need his service number. I have tried everything from army personnel to the medal office but no responce due to covid. Is there anyone that could help me?
    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi Chris Welch,
Chris Gosling and i were in the same patrol squad in 1974 when we were in Belfast. I remember you but can’t remember if you were REME or Engineers?
    Cheers

    Hi Arnd,

RSM Joe Herman was definitely at 28AER during 1972. I arrived in early January 72 and remember him well.

I am still trying to trace another ex RSM Chris Gosling. Do you have any Wo and Sgt Mess photo’s from the time he was there?

    Kind regards,

Chris Welch (Chris James on Facebook)

    1. Sorry Chris, I didn’t have photos of that time. :-(

        Hi Arnd,

I was at 28 AER from ’71 to ’76 in 64 Squadron. I am trying to contact either Chris Welch (who posted on your site Jan 18 2017) or Chris Gosling, who he was looking for. Chris Gosling and I were in the same Patrol Squad when we were in Belfast in ’74. Do you have contacts for either of these guys?

        Thanks
        Michael Smith
