„AZTEC CALLENDAR “
The British liaison officer in Hameln announced the exercise “AZTEC CALLENDAR” for the period from 10 to 21 April 1972. The training area extended primarily across the region of Holzminden and the southern part of the district of Hameln-Pyrmont.
Approximately 120 soldiers of the Royal Engineers from the 28th Amphibious Engineer Regiment took part in the exercise. The unit deployed 20 amphibious vehicles together with a further 30 wheeled vehicles. Training focused on the movement of troops, the deployment of units in the field, and, in particular, the construction of temporary and amphibious bridges.
For the duration of the exercise, overnight positions and field camps were established within the training area. Earthworks were carried out solely for the installation of sanitary facilities. Undergrowth was cut on a limited scale for camouflage of positions and vehicles.

„AZTEC CALLENDAR“
Der britische Verbindungsoffizier in Hameln kündigte für den Zeitraum vom 10. bis zum 21. April 1972 die Übung „AZTEC CALLENDAR“ an. Das Übungsgebiet erstreckte sich überwiegend über den Raum Holzminden sowie den südlichen Teil des Landkreises Hameln-Pyrmont.
An der Übung nahmen rund 120 Soldaten der Royal Engineers vom 28th Amphibious Engineer Regiment teil. Zum Einsatz kamen 20 Amphibienfahrzeuge sowie weitere 30 Radfahrzeuge. Im Mittelpunkt der Ausbildung standen Marschbewegungen, das Entfalten der Einheiten im Gelände sowie insbesondere der Bau von Behelfs- und Schwimmbrücken.
Für die Dauer der Übung wurden Übernachtungsplätze und Feldlager im Übungsraum eingerichtet. Erdarbeiten erfolgten ausschließlich zur Anlage sanitärer Einrichtungen. Unterholz wurde in begrenztem Umfang zur Tarnung der Stellungen und Fahrzeuge geschlagen.
