🇬🇧 1978 – A brilliant piece of art by Steve Hart 🇬🇧

Clive Jones Davies sent me a section of a newspaper report about one of his comrades. Steve Hart was stationed from 1977 to 1981 in Hameln with the 42 Field Squadron. During his spare time, Steve worked on an extraordinary piece of art. With hammer, nails, and thread, he formed the coat of arms of the Royal Engineers on a wooden board. In total he needed 40 hours, 1962 nails and 130 meters of thread. It is an extraordinary piece, so I think! Respect! As Steve told me, he built two pieces of it. One of them is to be in Northern Ireland and the other at the Corporal Mess of Gibraltar Barracks. Maybe I’ll get a picture of one of these two pieces, if they still exist!

Clive Jones Davies sendete mir einen Ausschnitt einer Zeitung, der über einen seiner Kameraden berichtete. Steve Hart war von 1977 bis 1981 in Hameln mit der 42 Field Squadron stationiert. Während seiner Freizeit arbeitete Steve an einem außergewöhnlichen Stück Kunst. Mit Hammer, Nägeln und Faden, bildete er das Wappen der Royal Engineers auf einer Holzplatte nach. Insgesamt benötigte er dafür 40 Stunden, 1962 Nägel und 130 Meter Faden. Wie ich finde ein außergewöhnliches Stück! REspekt! Wie Steve mir berichtete, hat er zwei Stück davon gebaut. Eines davon soll in Nordirland sein und das andere in der Corporals Messe der Gibraltar Barracks. Vielleicht bekomme ich noch ein Photo eines dieser beiden Stücke, wenn sie noch existieren!
