In 1992 the Squadron was renamed 44 HQ Sqn, prior to being deployed on Op Grapple in 1992 we were renamed again to 44 Fd Sp & HQ Sqn
During Op grapple the Sqn was split between several locations
Resources Troop Wksp was at Tomislavsgrad along with much of Plant Troop, Fitter Section and some of MT and Bridge Troop.
Plant Troop and Res Troop had small detachments working along the route being built over the mountains to Gorni Vakuf and Vitez
Resources Troop resources cell was mostly at Divulje Brks in Split (Croatia)
I was in the Squadron from 1988 to 1994 and was in 42 Fd Sqn from 1984 to 1987

In 1977 the Sqn was named “44 Field Support Squadron” and gained a new troop – “RHQ troop – when the Regiment’s Headquarter Squadron was disbanded.
During the Jan to April 80 tour of Northern Ireland 44 Fd Sp Sqn was based in Armagh City. The other Sqns of the Regt were dispersed throughout South Armagh County.
