Am 02.07. 1968 und am 04.07.1968 spielten die Pipes and Drums des
153. (Highland) Regiment of Transport unter der Leitung von
Drum Major Cray im Bürgergarten von Hameln auf.
Das 153. Regiment setzte sich wenige Jahre zuvor aus dem
51st Highland Divisional Regiment RCT (TA)
und der
Band of 433 (Fourth) Regiment RCT (TA) zusammen!
Die Pipes and Drums erlangten viele Meisterschaften und
tourten durch deutsche Städte in denen britische Einheiten stationiert waren.
U.a. Bielefeld, Hameln, Hannover, und auch Bad Münder!

On in 1968/07/02 and on 1968/07/04,
the Pipes and Drums of
153. (Highland) Regiment of Transport
played their Tunes under leadership of Drum Major Cray
in the Buergergarten of Hamelin.
The Pipes and Drums gained many championships and toured German cities where British units stationed.
Among others, Bielefeld, Hameln, Hanover, and Bad Munder!

Etwa 1946 waren in Hameln und Minden schottische Soldaten stationiert. Welches Regiment war das? Welchen Tartan trugen sie? In meiner zum Teil erfundenen Geschichte “Ein Hamelner Junge im Kilt” habe ich darauf Bezug genommen. Danke: Grüße aus Wismar

In Hameln waren die Queens Own Cameron Highlanders und in Minden waren u.a. die Black Watch und die Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders.
